A Social Media Thank You

To all the wonderful writers, readers, artists, and overall, the dreamers I’ve met across all my social media platforms.

I just wanted to say thank you.

Thank you for sharing your humor. Your love. Your well wishes, interests, passions, hopes, aspirations, art, and creativity with me.

I don’t get to say thanks enough for social media. I guess it’s easy to see if as some omnipotent, all-knowing void where information goes to get likes or disappear. But it’s easy to forget that it’s more than that.

It’s more of a marketplace sprawl with vendors hawking their wares everywhere. Sometimes, the less established vendors slip through the cracks.

The people with the highest podiums speak loudest, or sometimes, they simply post once, and like a magician, disappear in a cloud of colorful smoke that everyone chatters about for ages.

I wanted to speak up a bit for the quiet ones in the corners. The curious onlookers with their hands in their pockets, just strolling through for a smile and a laugh. Or the ones who are genuinely reaching out, only to get buffeted by the gale force winds of the crowds at the marketplace.

I think you’re all wonderful people with tons to share. I don’t think you hear that enough, so here I go.

Thanking you for all that you offer. You are. That I hope to one day learn.
